LIONS INTERNATIONAL PEACE POSTER CONTEST

BRINGING PEACE TO THE WORLD ONE CHILD AT A TIME

The Grand Terrace Lions Club is proud to sponsor the

Lions International Peace Poster Contest for the year 2012-2013.

The theme is “Imagine Peace”

The contest is open to children who will be 11, 12, or 13 on November 15, 2012. It is a world wide competition which includes 45,0000 Clubs in 206 countries, opening up the opportunity for parents, teachers and group leaders to discuss with children the true importance of world peace.

Posters are judged on originality, artistic merit, and expression of the theme. Only one winner is selected world wide. The deadline for entries at the Club level is November 10, 2012. Entries are than forwarded to the District for judging and again only one winner will advance.

Winners advancing to the final International Judging are recognized as follows:

International Grand Prize Winner receives a trip to the awards ceremony at Lions Day with the United Nations(subject to change). At the ceremony he/she will receive $5000.00 (or equivalent) and an award. Two family members(one being the parent or legal guardian) and sponsoring Lions Club President or Club Member (as designated by the Club President) will accompany the winner to the award ceremony. The award ceremony is planned for March of 2013.

23 Merit Winners will receive $500.00 (or equivalent)

And a certificate of achievement.
