ABOUT US

In the fall of 1973, Grand Terrace Resident and Moreno Valley Lions Club member Tom Green began asking friends and neighbors about starting a service club in town. After much conversation and much dedication, Tom won the support and commitment from the community. On January 26, 1974 the Grand Terrace Lions Club was chartered with 43 new members.

Two of the chartering members still serve today.

Whenever Lions club members get together, problems get smaller and communities are improved. That's because Lions provide help where help where it is needed – in our own communities and around the world – with unmatched integrity and energy. With 46,000 clubs and 1.35 million members Lions International is the world's largest service club organization. Lions International is also one of the most effective in its endeavors.

Lions Club members do whatever is needed to help their local communities. Everywhere we work, we make friends. With children who need eyeglasses, with seniors who don’t have enough to eat and with people we may never meet.
